The race of the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship in Toronto could easily be defined by two concepts: yellow flags and safety car.

Richard Boake ultimately won a postponed and shortened race where mechanical problems after off-course meant most of the laps were run either under the yellow flag or behind the safety car.

Postponed because the track had to be cleaned from earlier incidents in other series. Shortened because of schedule constraints after yet another full course yellow on Saturday.

On lap 12, Ryan Blanchet’s Honda Civic Si broke down sending him so off track that the race was simply stopped.

Eric Hochgeschurz pulled into pit lane on the second lap with an engine problem, his teammate Arek Wojciechowski spun and stopped in the middle of corner 8 a tad later and then Dave Ciekievicz suffered a brake problem with his Subaru STI and went in the runoff as well.

In addition to this, three cars suffered punctured tires, three others lost their rear bumpers from contacts will the walls.

Sasha Anis finished in second position ahead of Quebec driver Mathieu Audette who completes the 'main' podium.

In ST class, Quebec driver Alain Lauzière won in his Mini Cooper S JCW with his teammate Michel Sallenbach, driving the same care, in second place ahead of Tom Kwok, who completed the class podium in third.

The next race will take place in Montreal as part of the NAPA 200 celebrations at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
