Interesting is the availability of what seems to be an adaptation of Saab's XWD system as an option for those interested in all wheel drive.
2010 SRX production starts in the spring, with dealer availability following shortly thereafter.
Chevrolet Orlando
Chevrolet's Cruze-based seven-passenger multi-purpose vehicle just made its debut at the North American International Auto Show. This one's called the Orlando--and has been announced for production by the automaker. Think of Orlando as a mix between minivan, wagon and SUV.
The automaker's signature design language is applied, including a two-level grille, flowing headlamps and muscular fenders. Power comes from a two-litre turbodiesel engine, and the interior boasts flexible, theater style seating in three rows. A long wheelbase and wide front and rear track enhance space and handling characteristics.
Orlando is unique looking, to say the least. Its mainly curvaceous body terminates with a box-like, flat rear end. Up front, the massive grille and steeply raked windshield create an almost menacing look.
Chevrolet Spark
Originally showed off as the Chevrolet Beat at the New York auto show in 2007, the Spark is a 4-door minicar that would easily replace the Korean-built Aveo in GM's North American line-up. A production version of the Spark will be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show next March.
Both the Orlando and the Spark will turn up in dealerships in 2011.
