General Motors Japan Limited (GM Japan) and Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) announced today that they will market the Chevrolet Cruze, a jointly developed compact lifestyle vehicle, beginning November 1 through GM Japan's GM AutoWorld sales channel and Suzuki's ARENA sales channel.
The Chevrolet Cruze will be marketed exclusively under the Chevrolet nameplate. The new Chevrolet Cruze is the result of close collaboration between GM and Suzuki. Suzuki provided its expertise in the development of compact cars for consumers in Asia. GM contributed specific Chevrolet design cues and driving characteristics, which inspire an active lifestyle.
The Chevrolet Cruze will be manufactured at Suzuki's Kosai Plant near Hamamatsu in Shizuoka Prefecture. GM AutoWorld and Suzuki's ARENA will sell 1.5-liter and 1.3-liter models in different trim options, respectively. Consumers will be able to select from an array of exterior colors and interior trim colors.
To offer a sporty, comfortable performance that can accommodate a wide range of driving styles, the Chevrolet Cruze has 15-inch wheels, 195 mm of ground clearance and a specially GM-tuned suspension. Smooth acceleration, quietness and superb handling are further enhanced by the spacious interior.
