Chinese tire manufacturer DMACK, a brand of Shandong Yongtai Chemical Group Co., Ltd. will join Michelin as a tire supplier in the World Rally Championship next season.
Established in 1996, Shandong Yongtai Chemical Group Co., Ltd. is a leading tire manufacturer in China. The company is capable of producing over 5 million units of "DURUN" brand passenger car tires, high performance tires and light truck radial tires each year.
The company says it has one of the most advanced testing and R&D centers.
DMACK is aiming to supply privateer crews with tires that are said to be very strong and durable.
“Ongoing testing of the WRC tyres is taking place at our research facility in China and at the hands of our test driver Mark Higgins,” said Dick Cormack, DMACK’s motorsport director.
“As the first Chinese tire manufacturer to enter the WRC, we see the opportunity to take the DMACK and Yongtai brands to a whole new level.”
