New De-Contented Pacifica Offers Same Quality, Lower Price
Following the lead that was set by Chrysler Group's U.S. division, DaimlerChrysler Canada is now offering a de-contented Pacifica for a reduced price, $39,900 from $43,395.

Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (AWD) models feature the revised equipment group, what is being called the 'M' Package. The new model drops such features as heated leather seats, a dash-mounted, 6-disc CD/DVD changer and power liftgate from the 'R' package (original Pacifica) menu, but the same high quality interior, first class design and V6 powertrain is included.
While heated leather seats can't be had with the new equipment package, all other options are available at additional cost. An AWD version starts at $42,500, while previously available 'R' package Pacificas start at $43,395 for front-wheel drive and $45,995 for AWD versions.

"This new, entry-level price for the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica brings it closer to the heart of the Canadian market," stated Matt Brannagan, Chrysler Brand Manager, DaimlerChrysler Canada. "It is a new alternative for those who want a six-seater sports tourer with less standard equipment than previously available on Pacifica at a lower price."
Whether choosing the top-tier 'R' package or de-contented 'M' package, the made-in-Canada Pacifica offers an impressive array of standard features. From its 250-hp 3.5-L V6 and AutoStick sequential-shift automatic transmission, pulled right out of the sporty 300M sedan, to its 6-occupant, liftback versatility with fold-flat second and third rows, the Pacifica is a solid entry into a highly contested midsize crossover SUV market.
While dual front and side curtain airbags are expected in this class, the Pacifica's driver's knee airbag is truly a unique safety feature. What's more, the Pacifica attained the U.S. government's highest marks for crash protection, a Five-Star rating for front and side impacts.
