DaimlerChrysler CEO Wolfgang Bernhard recently had an interview with the trade journal Automotive News. In the interview, he remarked that the next four weeks will be detrimental to the future plans of the proposed plant.
Reports have accused DaimlerChrysler of giving the government an ultimatum concerning the plant. Flaherty denied the accusation; "they have not given our government an ultimatum, not through me, as the minister of enterprise or through my ministry."
Further discussions on the matter will be held between Flaherty and federal Industry Minister Allan Rock.
