But it is not just Nissan facing NHTSA recalls. GM will recall approximately 52,000 of its Cadillac CTS luxury sedans in order to fix a bolt on the steering shaft that may loosen. This, in turn, may lead the driver to lose control of the vehicle. There were two instances reported in which the bolt was loose, luckily no accidents resulted. GM said that Cadillac dealers will inspect the steering shaft bolt and make sure it is tightened.
Chrysler Group announced 287,725 2002 Dodge Ram pickup trucks will be recalled to fix a wiring problem that could lead to the heater fan to shutting off - hardly life threatening unless in Yellowknife mid-winter.

BMW AG said 5,110 of its Mini Coopers will head back to the dealership in order to secure a screw on the rear suspension struts that could possibly break.
Last but not least, Ford will replace windshields on 67,894 Taurus and Mercury Sable sedans that do not meet (federal) safety standards. Glenn Ray, Ford's spokesman stated that the NHTSA come across the windshield problem on some of the 2002 and 2003 models. Ford then traced this issue back to an assembly plant problem.
