DaimlerChrysler Canada is today extending its recently announced seven-year or 115,000 kilometre powertrain warranty offered on its 2003 model vehicles to its remaining 2002 model cars and trucks.

On July 8, DaimlerChrysler Canada announced that the industry-leading warranty will be provided at no charge on new 2003 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep(R) vehicles. The 7/115 powertrain warranty, which is fully transferable to all subsequent owners at no extra cost, also includes seven years or 115,000 kilometres of 24-hour roadside assistance.

"Now we're also making this warranty, by far one of the most comprehensive in the industry, standard on all 2002 model Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles sold on or after July 29, 2002", Ed Brust, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, DaimlerChrysler Canada said. "The 7/115 warranty separates us from our major competitors. Simply stated, we have the best warranty", Mr. Brust said.

Extension of the 7/115 warranty to the company's remaining nationwide stocks of 2002 models dramatically underscores DaimlerChrysler's quality gains and major investments in its powertrain technology.

DaimlerChrysler has invested more than $11.0 billion in new, state-of-the-art powertrains during the past several years, including a new line of multi-valve passenger car engines as well as a new family of SUV and truck engines.

"In response to overwhelming requests from our customers and retailers, we are backing up our pride in the quality of our products with this substantially enhanced warranty for our remaining 2002 model vehicles", Mr. Brust said.
