It’s raining in Daytona, but everyone is still hoping to see the green flag fall today. Never in the history of the race has it been postponed to another day.
NASCAR President Mike Helton is adamant the officials will do everything they can to start the race as soon as possible. "[We hope] to run the Daytona 500 today," he said on the series' webiste.
"The sooner the better."
