We know we're currently playing the word game and we promise that it will end sooner rather than later... maybe. A few days back, we posted a story on the visual differences between certain specific cars. A few short days later, Ferrari announced to the World details on their new FF, the latest supercar from Maranello aimed at the affluent, scratch that, mega-loaded family of four.

Given the sheer nearly upsetting physical specs of the FF, we thought we'd compare a few of our favourite high-end cars to see where they stand. As we began collecting data, we thought we'd throw in some “normies” to see how everything stacks up.

In a nutshell, we found that Lamborghini remains fairly consistent height and width wise. Where weight is concerned, the newer models, although ever more powerful, have more girth to carry. Porsche and Ferrari yo-yo from very light to very hefty. The easiest way to explain this is by simply pointing out that both have and do offer more models than the gang from Sant'Agata.

The box below has a more direct impact on perceptions. When you picture a 2-door Mercedes CL-Class in your mind alongside a massive coffin-like Ford Flex, would you have ever thought that the coupe is only 19 mm (just under 2 cm) shorter than the Flex? Or, that the wheelbase of the 8-passenger Honda Odyssey is 16.5 cm shorter than that of a 5-passenger S-Class Mercedes? That's 6.5 inches!

Here are a few more observations on the following mishmash of cars and trucks for your pleasure. You've always known that a Silverado was much heavier than a Yaris but you probably hadn't figured that it was nearly 2.5 times more so. And how about this for a last bit of trivia: a smart fortwo fits nicely, with room to spare, within the wheelbase of the Bugatti Veyron.

Draw your own conclusion on the spec comparisons.
