DTM: Adrien Tambay to join Audi

Adrien Tambay will drive an Audi A5 in this year’s DTM championship.

Audi already announced seven drivers for the 2012 DTM series. An eight car will be available for the 21-year-old driver, Adrien Tambay, who will make his DTM debut with Team Abt Sportline alongside Rahel Frey.

Adrien Tambay, son of former F1 driver and Ferrari driver Patrick Tambay, gets this chance after a successfull test on Monday.

Adrian began his single seater career in 2007, racing Formula BMW, Formula 3, then GP3 (2010) and Auto GP (2011). He also ran selected races in FIA GT3 and the Andros Trophy.

Tambay has been confirmed for the entire 2012 DTM season, although it is still unsure if his car will be ready for the opening round to be held at Hockenheim at the end of April.
