In order to avoid any conflict with Formula One, the DTM has published a revised calendar for the 2009 season, with a couple of major changes; the absence of the Mugello circuit and the replacement of the Le Mans venue by Dijon.

As usual, the season will start and end at Hockenheim on 17 May, three weeks later than originally planned, and 25 October respectively after nine events.

A couple of date changes have also been made in order to avoid clashes with Formula One races; Eurospeedway race will be held on May 30th and the Brands Hatch race is being move to September 6th.

The Italian track of Mugello will be absent from the calendar for the first time in three years; finding a reasonable date for the Italian round proved to be just impossible as the MotoGP is going to race there in late May.

Meanwhile, the Dijon circuit will be making its first DTM appearance, replacing Le Mans as host of the French round of the championship.

2009 calendar:

17 May Hockenheimring
31 May EuroSpeedway Lausitz
28 June Norisring
19 July Zandvoort
02 August Oschersleben
16 August Nürburgring
06 September Brands Hatch
20 September Barcelona
11 October Dijon
25 October Hockenheimring
