After a long hiatus, the DTM touring car series will be back in action this weekend at the short Brands Hatch circuit in Great Britain. Passing in tricky on the fast circuit and the starting the race from the front row will be part of the success.
Four drivers are at the top of the ranking: Englishman Jamie Green (Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Class) is second overall with 40 points, four points behind leader Timo Scheider (Audi). Another Briton, Paul Di Resta (AMG Mercedes C-Class) is fourth overall with 37 points.
DTM champion Mattias Ekstrom (Audi) is third. Canadian driver Bruno Spengler (Mercedes) lies in 5th place, having scored 28 points
Compared to the 2008 Audis, the 2008 AMG Mercedes C-Class will carry an additional weight of 10 kilograms; Mercedes added five kilos compared to the basic weight of 1,050 kilograms, Audi has five kilos less. The weight of both manufacturers' 2007 cars will be 1,040 kilograms each.
