In preparation for Sunday's DTM race at the Brands Hatch circuit, Audi had the upper hand in both practices.
The first session on Friday ended with a fastest time set by Audi driver and series leader Timo Scheider. On the 1.929 kilometres circuit, Schneider drove his fastest lap in 42.577 seconds. Paul di Resta occupied second place in the first test at a considerable distance.
Behind di Resta, DTM champion Mattias Ekström was third and Mercedes Bernd Schneider was fourth. Audi's Tom Kristensen completed the Top 5.
Canadian Bruno Spengler finished 8th.
With temperatures rising the 19, drivers from Audi and Mercedes-Benz failed to match the times from the morning session in the second DTM test.
