Bruno Spengler (BMW) will start from pole position at Oschersleben, 8th round of the DTM championship.
The Canadian driver, who stands in third position in provisional classification, had a bad beginning of session as he was standing in 18th position in the last moments of Q1, but managed to set a lap quick enough to qualify to Q2 in his very last attempt. Then, Spengler set the fourth best performance in Q3, which allowed him to take part to Q4, for the shootout for pole position. The BMW driver was the first of the last top four to hit the track, and no one of his rivals succeeded to beat his time.
Championship leader Gary Paffett will share the first row of the grid with his championship rival. Behind, Jamie Green, who now stands in second position in provisional championship, will start from inside row 2 alongside Dirk Werner’s BMW.
The best Audi was the A5 driven by Mattias Ekström, who set the 5th best performance. Robert Wickens, the other Canadian en track, was 12th aboard his Mercedes.
