WK2Jeeps.com has confirmed that the 2012 Jeep Cherokee SRT8 will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show on April 10, with production slated for July 2011.
According to their information, the SUV will be powered by a 6.4-litre, V8 HEMI producing between 465 and 470 hp and 465 and 470 ft-lb of torque. With all that power at its disposal, the Jeep will bound from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4 seconds.
The Grand Cherokee SRT8 will reportedly rest on an adaptive suspension system that conforms to driving style and road conditions. Drivers will be able to choose between Auto and Sport mode for optimum control.
Steering wheel paddles will also be included with the five-speed automatic transmission.
At first glance these statements seem logical, as we learned yesterday from Dodge that the 2012 Charger SRT8 will inherit the self same characteristics (engine, power, paddles, adaptive suspension).
