Electrifying results
So, as Mike, Matt and Miranda wandered around a local park feeding the squirrels and simultaneously herding sea gulls, we surveyed our electric vehicles (parked, but not charging):
Here were three feats in automotive engineering and design. After all that planning, calling ahead, mapping our routes, and measuring distances before our drive, we were looking at three examples of what the future of the automobile was supposed to be. This “future” began nearly two decades ago (remember the Saturn EV1?), and has yet to arrive. And while the general public still deems the technology “new” it’s actually been around long enough (more than a century) to have seen some major improvement and even to garner nods -- however slight and inconspicuous -- of approval from three gas-loving gearheads like us.
We think that makes all three winners.
