Now that Christmas is approaching and delivery becomes critical to wrapping up their employer's fiscal yearend, the deer are standing their ground, literally. At first their work stoppages were not directly affecting production, but gearing up to Christmas Santa has had concerns that not enough presents have been dropped at 'key holding locations' around the globe, necessary to make the overnight delivery process possible. With local warehouses filling to overcapacity toys are piling up in Santa's production facilities, endangering workers and generally interrupting the company's usual fluid operation.

| Most recently, a lockout has literally left RAMS workers "out in the cold" according to a Ruminant Athabaskan Mammals Society (RAMS) spokesdeer. |
"We initially didn't want to cause problems with Christmas deliveries, but as there was little headway made in satisfying our concerns up to this point our employer has given us no other alternative than to strike", the RAMS spokesdeer continued. "We're certain that little boys and little girls around the world will support us in our decision".
Rumor of a general walkout on Christmas Eve has had Santa's team working overtime on delivery alternatives. A spokes-elf for the 'Big Elf' commented, "Up to a week ago I hadn't seen Santa so agitated in a millennia, but now that we've sourced an alternative shipping method he seems almost back to normal."
Santa has an alternative shipping method? The elves are keeping tight lips and the reindeer are completely out in the cold, due mostly to a recent lock out. Picketing lines outside of the toy shop have now become a normal sight around the clock.
At the time of this writing there has been no official word if Santa will be using this alternative method or if the agreement between RAMS and the northern firm will be ratified in time for this year's global delivery.
