Adrian Fernandez announced that he will leave Aston Martin Racing and the World Endurance Championship with immediate effect to focus on domestic racing opportunities.
The former IndyCar driver was a works driver for Aston Martin Racing since 2010, driving an Aston Martin-Lola LMP1 the first season. He then drove the disastrous AMR-One LMP1 protoype in LMP1, before Aston Martin moved back to GT this season with the Vantage GTE.
Fernandez, who drove alongside with Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke, will not contest the remaining World Endurance Championship races this season and won’t be taking part in the Six Hours of Sao Paulo, Brazil this weekend.
