The Canadian has ideally started his season with two pole positions, one victory and two second places, he's now leading the Championship after four races.

Winning the championship secures one test in F1 and already backed by Marussia, Robert Wickens does everything to make it into Formula One.

Robert, things have been going pretty well for you since the start of the season. Efficient and quick, do you think that is a fair description of how you are currently performing?
Things have indeed got off to a very good start. With the Carlin team, we started by working very hard right throughout winter testing. Motorland Aragón set the tone for what was to come. It's important to get the season underway on the right foot. Then Carlin had an incredible weekend in Spa-Francorchamps. Our car was nearly perfect and, along with my teammate, Jean-Éric Vergne, we did what we had to do. (Editor’s note: Robert Wickens took the victory ahead of Jean-Eric in Saturday's race then Jean-Eric won ahead of Robert Wickens on the Sunday). There is still a long way to go this season and plenty of things can happen. My objective is to take the title. To do that, I will have to keep performing to 100% of my ability and maintain this good run of form.

Is it really beneficial to be teammates with someone who is also going for the title, and so who is potentially your rival?
Every driver on the grid wants to take the title! I get on very well with Jean-Éric and we're both heading in the same direction. We know that if we work well together, that will be of benefit to both of us. Trevor Carlin has faith in us. So he lets us compete out on track knowing we'll do it in a spirit of loyalty. Of course, things did get a little stressful at Spa when Jean-Eric tried to pass me on the brakes at Combes, and I locked up my wheels trying to hold him off. But it was all good, clean racing. There's bound to be more exchanges like that between us, but we are on good sporting terms and it is going to stay that way. For me, it's a new experience to see that my teammate is one of the challengers for the title, but in the end I suppose that can only be positive.
