Here is the video of the accident involving Wickens, Vergne and Berthon at the start of the last round of the Formula Renault 3.5 season.
After his race 1 win, Robert Wickens was leading by nine points ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne before the last round of the season.
At the start of race 2, Vergne tried to pass Wickens but the canadian driver kept his line and both had a first contact, before a bigger contact in the next corner. Wickens damaged his suspension, and was forced to retire.
But Jean-Eric Vergne could not take benefit after his main rival’s retirement, as his car also suffered some damages after the incident. The Frenchman dropped down in order lap by lap, and was finally hit by Fairuz Fauzy at lap 17, and was also forced to retire. Robert Wickens was champion.
