The list of race organizers dreaming of a Grand Prix venue is only getting bigger.

John Rhodes, associate of Populous – the company behind the construction of the Velociudad Speedcity – told Reuters the plan for his argentinian track’s is to "deliver a Formula 1 event."

The sport has already been to Argentina, on and off between 1953 and 1998. Michael Schumacher was the last one to win a Grand Prix staged in Juan Manuel Fangio's country.

The rich and passionate motorsport history of the country has been lacking top-notch heroes for a few years now. Holding a world-class event would certainly boost the troops' moral.

Rhodes also told Reuters the circuit could welcome MotoGP events, and endurance races, as well as F1.

"The plan is for a circuit capable of delivering a Formula 1 event. The issue is to have a high performance circuit capable of holding a MotoGP then add the necessary requirements for a Formula 1 race. The main 4.7 km circuit will be good for F1 and endurance races like Le Mans, it's a good, sensible length."
