Red Bull Racing’s duo of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber clinched the best times of the second and final free practice session for the Grand Prix of Spain held Friday in Barcelona.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button dominated the first morning session, beating Michael Schumacher in his heavily revised Mercedes GP car.
But in the afternoon, Vettel broke the 80-second-a-lap barrier and went 1.2 seconds faster than Hamilton in the morning.
Vettel’s teammate Webber was second ahead of Schumacher who again did well in his Mercedes W01, Fernando Alonso in the first Ferrari, Hamilton and Renault’s Robert Kubica.
Seven out of the 8 Cosworth runners were the slowest of the field in the afternoon.
