The LG Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival, presented by Bud Light and featuring the Virgin Mobile Stage is back, bigger and better than ever for 2011 following a stellar performance last year with over 500,000 spectators.
The three-day-free-admission festival will celebrate automotive lifestyle, present the best music and offer a slew of other activities for the whole family from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. between June 9 and 11.
The festival will kick-off with the opening ceremonies on Thursday, June 9 at 12:30 p.m. with a special appearance by P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens, Olympians Alexandre Bilodeau and Alexandre Despatie.
To hype it up one notch, Virgin Mobile will also bring the Marussia Virgin Racing team’s F1 car on the street to give visitors a chance to see these powerful machines up close.
On day three at 9:30 p.m. on the Virgin Mobile Stage, Down With Webster, recipient of numerous awards and nominated for the Group of the Year and Pop Album of the Year at the Junos, will rock the stage to close off the Festival activities.
Formula 1 driver Driver Vitaly Petrov will be appearing on Thursday afternoon next to the TW Steel booth and legendary driver Emerson Fittipaldi will be in attendance on Friday evening.
Another activity that will catch festival goers looking up this year will be the Shell 3D mapping projection on the façade of Light Ultra Club, 2020 Crescent St. Every night between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., Shell will light-up Crescent St and amaze visitors with a 3D spectacle that will feature cars, sound and images three stories high. All this without even putting on 3D glasses!
