The Caterham F1 Team and its GP2 team Caterham Racing have today confirmed that they are proposing to move their operational base from their current site in Norfolk to a new home in Leafield, Oxfordshire, in August 2012.
The team will move on the old Super Aguri F1 team base. Previously, that building housed Tom Walkinshaw's Arrows team in the early '90s.
“With the acquisition of Caterham Cars and the establishment of the wider Caterham Group, it became clear that we needed to house the car company in the same facility as our racing operations, to give us the best chance to meet our future goals on and off track,” said Team Principal Tony Fernandes.
“We will be consulting with all our team about the proposed move before we make any decisions about exactly which functions will be located to the new site,” Fernandes added.
The factory in Hingham will become the new permanent home for Caterham Composites, as well as Caterham Technology and Innovation.
