Circuit: It is 5.793km long, which makes it the 5th longest of the season. It is also the fastest with an average speed of 250 km/h. Top speed is about 340 km/h reached four times each lap. The first chicane is quite slow while the second is faster and the third is quite fast. The Lesmo and Parabolica corners are taken at a minimum speed of 175 and 215 km/h, respectively.

Aerodynamics: The circuit requires the lowest levels of downforce of the season. Cooling is not a problem, but excessive cooling generates a lot of drag, which reduces top speed. Teams must also keep an eye on debris (such as fresh cut grass and dead leaves) that can obstruct the radiators.

Brakes: Not a major concern. However, the car needs to be very well balanced under braking. Brake ducts needs to be as small as possible as they also generate drag.

Engine: Monza is very tough on the engines. 70% of the lap is done under full throttle. The maximum time spent under full throttle is about 15 seconds, which is less than circuits like Spa and Shanghai.

Gearbox: First gear is used in the first chicane and second gear is used in the second chicane. Third and fourth gears are adapted for the other faster corners such as Lesmo and Parabolica.

Suspension: Not a big problem, but they have to be extremely efficient when the car goes straight on the kerbs. Going over the kerbs lap after lap may cause some components that are not up to the task to break.

Strategy: 10 kilos of fuel on board costs 0.3 second per lap. A pit stop is very costly because Monza has the longest pit straight of all F1 tracks. It takes 26 seconds for a car to travel the entire length of the pit lane.
