Mexican Sergio Perez continued to get to grips with the driving of an F1 car by completing 42 laps of the circuit of Valencia in the Sauber. He set the 9th fastest time ahead of another rookie, Pastor Maldonado (Williams) and the two Toro Rossos of Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari.

Team Lotus test day was short cut by a power steering failure that necessitated the component to be shipped back to the UK to get it fixed.
