F1 Great Britain: Very wet conditions in Silverstone for first day of practice

Such was the flurry of late times as track conditions improved that one-time pacesetter Michael Schumacher for Mercedes found his 1m52.325s good enough only for 12th by the time the flag fell less than ten minutes after he set it.

World champion leader Sebastian Vettel, Webber’s team-mate, was only 13th in the morning and 18th in the afternoon.
