Finnish driver Heikki Kovalainen placed his McLaren-Mercedes in first place during Friday morning’s first practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring.
His teammate Lewis Hamilton was third, one spot behind Nico Rosberg.
The Brawn-Mercedes were in trouble with 10th place for Jenson Button and 13th for Rubens Barrichello.
Toro Rosso new recruit Jaime Alguersuari was slowest of the group.
