Mark Webber set the best time of the two free practice sessions this Friday, with McLaren really close to the Red Bulls.
Webber easily set the best time in P1, 1.6 second ahead of Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) and more than two seconds faster than Michael Schumacher (Mercedes). Force India reserve driver, Nico Hulkenberg, was fourth.
There were ard times for Lotus Renault GP. The two drivers completed only a few laps due to mechanic problems. italy Petrov, suffered from a suspension failure, and the same feat happened toJerome d'Ambrosio who crashed his Marussia Virgin car.
The second free practice session was far more balanced and several drivers shared the top of the timesheets.
Webber was again the fastest, but this time only 5 thousands of second ahead of Jenson Button and one tenth of ahead of the second McLaren of Lewis Hamilton.
Webber's teammate Sebastian Vettel was fourth, but close to Hamilton.
Due to their morning, problems the Lotus Renault GP drivers only completed a few laps in the afternoon.
Regarding the Hispania Racing Team, Narain Karthikeyan broke his gearbox in the morning, after just 10 laps while Vitantonio Liuzzi faced technical problems during the second session.
Timo Glock was the fastest of the small teams with his Marussia Virgin.
