Schumacher fell while out skiing off-piste with his 14-year-old son, Mick, and other friends. Schumacher was luckly wearing a helmet but his head hit a rock hidden under 40cm of fresh snow.
An emergency evacuation followed, with the former F1 driver airlifted off the slopes by helicopter while still conscious.
Late Sunday night, the CHU of Grenoble indicated that Schumacher was fighting for his life in intensive care in a ‘critical state’ and suffering from a brain haemorrhage.
His wife, Corinna, and son, Mick, and daughter, Gina-Marie, were all in the hospital, according to the local sources, including Le Dauphiné Libéré newspaper.
