McLaren driver Jenson Button suffered a minor jet-ski injury during filming with the BBC London earlier this week.
The knee injury that resulted from the incident was enough for Button to put out of a 2008 Formula 1 McLaren showing at Goodwood Festival yesterday, but not enough to compromise his home Grand Prix weekend, the team guarantees.
"Jenson drove a McLaren MP4-12C road car and a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 race car at Goodwood yesterday," a McLaren spokesman told Autosport.
"He didn't drive a McLaren Formula 1 car, for purely precautionary reasons, in order to protect a small bump he'd received on his left knee during a jet ski event in London last week.
"Jenson isn't even limping, and he'll be fighting fit for Silverstone, as usual," the spokesman concluded.
Button is currently the closest rival of Sebastian Vettel in the 2011 championship with a 77 points gap to the German champion.
