New teams entering the Formula 1 World Championship next year will receive financial support, and some rules have been changed to cut the costs down a little bit more.

The Formula One Management (FOM) has agreed to make an annual payment of $10 million to each new team as well as offering free transportation of two chassis, plus 10,000kg of freight and 20 economy class air tickets to each race held outside Europe.

Several operations have shown interest in graduating to Formula 1 next year, including the USGPE operation, Prodrive and British race car manufacturer Lola.

For that reason, the number of cars permitted to enter the world championship has been raised from 24 to 26 cars.

Applications for new teams will be open on May 22-29, and the FIA will publish the list of accepted entrants on Friday June 12.

The applicants will be expected to declare whether they want to compete under the newly confirmed 44 million euros budget cap.

The FIA also announced that refuelling in Formula 1 would be banned from next season in an effort to cut the costs down. In addition, tyre blankets and tyre-heating devices will also be banned.
