The Serbian team Stefan Grand Prix would have taken "some sort of agreement" with Toyota "to take over the F1 project", hoping that the manufacturer's position on the 2010 grid will not be declared vacant by the FIA.

Toyota has committed to F1 until 2012 by submitting its entry earlier this year. When it announced its retirement almost a month ago however, the FIA had questions.

Those should be answered within the next week or so at the Formula 1 Commission meeting in Monaco, according to autosport. Sauber is waiting for the Commission's decision to get its place on the 2010 grid.

Stefan GP's chief Zoran Stefanovich would like to be the 13th entry next year, whether it is through Toyota or through its own plans.

"There is no entry for them [Toyota]," Stefanovich told autosport. "We are in the process of evaluating our own plans for next year. We did some sort of agreement with them [Toyota], to take over the F1 project, but I cannot discuss the details at present."

"We have a complete facility and we have what is required to start testing immediately. There is no reason not to believe that we can't do it – and in fact the situation seems to be quite the opposite. F1 will be glad to have a team from this area of the world, as currently its only representation is with the Hungarian Grand Prix.

"We are on stand-by," Stefanovich concluded.
