We certainly can’t accuse Fisker Automotive of lacking ambition! The firm behind the sporty and luxurious Karma says it will be able to sell 7,000 units this year and 15,000 in 2012.
According to Bernhard Koehler, director of operations, the automaker has already accumulated 3,000 purchase orders. To sell the 4,000 remaining units, Fisker is organizing a test-drive tour across the U.S. and Europe starting this May.
Only a four-door variant will be offered initially. A second model (probably a coupe) will be featured at the next Frankfurt Motor Show, while a drop-top version should be available in 2013.
The Karma, which will enter production on March 21, is a hybrid electric vehicle selling for 87,900 USD.
Mr Koehler also confirmed that the manufacturer is currently working on a family sedan known as “project Nina”. The car will reportedly fetch around 47,500 USD when it goes on sale in early 2013.
