Toyota will continue with its full-size Tundra as well, hardly a threat to sales supremacy so far, while Korean manufacturer Hyundai is rumored to be getting into the light truck business in the next couple of years.
Yes the times are changing and Ford will have to not only produce a truck that impresses potential customers in the showroom, but hold up over the long haul with next to no recalls and superior reliability, right off the mark.
