The Hurricane will need to be robust indeed to surpass the HEMI's capabilities, but then again Ford is no slouch when it comes to building engines. signs of it again becoming a reality signify Ford's return to financial health.

The automaker definitely looks to be on an upswing, with reduced operating costs and new products, such as the new F-150, either having recently been released or soon on the way. Analysts say the domestic automaker is on track to earn pre-tax profits of USD$7 billion by 2005/06.

But the Hurricane isn't the only new power unit Ford is working on, with 11 new engines and transmissions being added in short order to increase the brand's desirability.
