Still, it doesn't give up much in headroom, and its rear seat legroom is adequate enough for even larger adults. Ford went so far as to make sure someone with size fourteen feet could enter and exit the rear seating area without getting his shoes caught up on the B-pillar scuff plate or the back of the front seat.
Those that want to buy domestic to bolster the economy but aren't willing to put up with shoddy workmanship compared to top-tier Japanese rivals can rest assured, they won't be making concessions if they choose to buy the Fusion. Its layout is simple, yet clean and elegant. There's no clutter, and surface treatments, such as brushed aluminum or the optional piano black lacquer, dress it up nicely.
The tall rear decklid encloses an especially large trunk, capable of swallowing up to 447 liters (15.8 cubic feet) of luggage. While not quite as commodious as the 473 liter (16.7 cubic foot) Camry trunk, it will out haul the Accord's rather diminutive 396 liter (13.9 cubic foot) boot as well as the Mazda6's 429 liter (15.1 cubic foot) trunk.
