The new Mustang has been available since November of last year. The base engine is a 4.0L V6 that develops 210 hp. The gem is the 300 hp 4.6L V8 found in the GT. Both power plants can be had with either a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. Its styling is largely based on the 1968 Mustang. The Lincoln Aviator Concept was originally unveiled at last year's Detroit and New York Auto Shows. It is a cross between an SUV and a large station wagon and is effectively based on a car platform. It is by far a more original concept and idea than the Aviator that is presently offered in showrooms at the moment.
The Ford GT high-performance coupe was driven into the show area for the first time in Montreal by none other than Alex Tagliani. Its supercharged 5.4L V8 develops 550 hp. A 6-speed manual is the only available transmission. The car comes to a stop via extra-large Brembo brake components. The GT is a tribute and a modern-day interpretation of the mid-60's GT40 that won the 24 hours of Le Mans 3 years in a row.
The Ford Five-Hundred and Freestyle are based on a Volvo chassis. The sole engine offered is the 3.0L Duratec V6 that puts out 203 hp. It is available in FWD or AWD version and with either a 6-speed automatic transmission or a CVT (Continuously variable transmission).
