with a new level of efficiency, technology, and cleanness, the new unit is said to have the emissions of a standard gasoline engine and be the first pickup truck engine in North America to use a high-precision, high-pressure common rail injection system.

An increase in displacement to 6.4 litres overshadows the current 6.0 litre model, though figures and specifications have yet to be released. The new Super Duty will be unveiled at the State Fair of Texas, in Dallas on Sept. 28 before going on sale in early 2007.

Ford has been a leader in the heavy duty diesel pickup market for some time, and annually sells more diesel powered units than Chevrolet and Dodge combined. They are confident that their new Super Duty will find many customers among the growing number of buyers who are choosing such powerplants for their trucks because of superior power and towing capabilities.
