Another nail in the coffin was the U.S. government's lack of support for electric vehicle programs, reducing the automotive vertical's large scale viability.
Ford declined to give reporters a sale price but expect it to be much less than the initial cost paid, adding to their long term losses. The exact dollar amount is probably over $10 million USD though, as this was the sum California electric bike and scooter manufacturer Zap offered in October.

Kamkorp will benefit from a new model TH!NK launched just before the sale. Under Ford's leadership it has already built more than 1,000 two-seat City hatchback models, capable of an 85 km (53 mile) range on a six hour charge. The Neighbor, a glorified golf cart, only capable of 40 km/h (25 mph), was produced in Detroit.
