Formula BMW: Favoretto on pole for Round 2

Ricardo Favoretto gets the pole for Round 2 of the Formula BMW Americas Championship held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, in Monterey, California, this week-end.

Favoretto set a time of 1:26.987, a new record in qualification and 0.691 faster than yesterday's best qualifying lap of 1:27.678 (Alexander Rossi).

Gianmarco Raimondo, yesterday's winner for team Autotechnica, was 0.300 second slower than Favoretto, second in round 1.

Alexander Rossi, Alexander Ruiz, Giancarlo Vilarinho and David Ostella completed the top-six.

Mikael Grenier, who finished third at his first race on Saturday, was faster than his teammate Maxime Pelletier, taking 7th place and leaving Pelletier with the 8th position on the grid.

Jorge Goncalvez and Velibor Jovanovic will be starting at the back.
