Throughout the conversation, we touched on emotion and its overall importance in a car company's success. Mr Bischoff referred to the word on numerous occasions, even when talking about the tremendous pressures he and his team are under from the top. "Everyone respects each other and we are all working towards the same goal." In my mind, passion spins off into emotion and it is obvious that Mr Bischoff works for the right company.
We ended off the interview briefly discussing VW's recent acquisition of ItalDesign and the famous Giugaro. If you follow my tweets (@Matt_St_Pierre), you already know that the Tex Concept will not be the next Golf.
When I asked what their role was going to be, Mr Bischoff had this to say: "ItalDesign is part of the big picture, looking where we will steer the ship. Their ideas or influence will not be considered over the other design teams, they will be part of the competition that takes place internally [when submitting new designs]".
