It goes without saying that there will be options available on each model, and GM has tried to tailor some of that action to suit the likely user.
So Uplander, Relay and Montana models serving as child-haulers can be equipped with what Giardina calls ''an unprecedented range of in-vehicle entertainment choices,'' including the DVD-based entertainment centre ($1,000) and a ''segment-exclusive Mobile Digital Media Powered by PhatNoise'' system that will appear sometime in 2005.
The wallet-sized, 40-gigabyte hard drive from PhatNoise goes in Uplander's overhead rail system and its capabilities include storing and playing up to 10,000 songs in MP3, WMA or WAV formats, storing and playing up to 40 typical movies, and much, much more.
The PhatNoise system's hard-drive cartridge is also easily removable, says Giardina, ''so it can be connected to a PC or laptop to download computer files for playback, giving passengers an unprecedented level of entertainment customization.''
