In more specific terms, that means:
- An all-new midsize Chevrolet compact pickup that will "set new standards for space, value and versatility." It will be available in a variety of cab and bed configurations, including a "youth-oriented package that includes larger wheels, flared fenders and an 'open-air' roof."
- An all-new S-series line of sedans and coupes that will reflect Saturn buyers' needs for "a high-quality, innovative design, a safe and uncomplicated driving experience, and an easy, respectful relationship with the manufacturer and dealer." There is also the already-announced car-based SUV priced that's coming out in late 2001.
- Chevrolet will offer a "more refined, driver-oriented Cavalier with improved performance and ergonomics." Zarrella said the new Cavalier is being developed alongside the next Opel Astra and "will feature a sporty, fun-to-drive character."
- Pontiac will offer an "athletic crossover that is bold and purposeful" and will be "the right size for transporting friends and gear, but with a personal feel." Zarrella said. This all-new vehicle will be aimed at entry-level buyers "who are young in body or spirit and live an increasingly active lifestyle full of extreme sports, flights of fancy and getting themselves and their friends way out to the next new challenge."
Zarrella said that more details about these products will be released as they get closer to market.
