Romain Grosjean won the 2011 GP2 Asia championship title after race 2 in Imola, as Dani Clos won the final round of the season.

Grosjean had already moved up to first position in the standing on Saturday, after he won race 1 on the Italian circuit, while Jules Bianchi took 3rd position, and dropped back to second overall.

Bianchi lost any chance to clinch the title when he was forced to retire in the first lap of race 2, after a contact with polesitter Farouz Fauzy.

Dani Clos took the lead in the first lap, and kept his advantage until the checkered flag. The Spanish driver won ahead of Fabio Leimer and Giedo van der Garde.

Romain Grosjean initially finished 4th, but he had a 20-second penalty for having short-cut a chicane. Grosjean was then classified in 7th position, which was enough to secure his second GP2 Asia title after his first crown in 2008.
