Fabio Leimer takes win in race 2 in Barcelona, while Giedo Van der Garde and Jules Bianchi crashed hard at the start.
Fabio Leimer claimed maiden win after he started from pole position, and concluded well a meeting that started very badly. The swiss driver suffered mechanical issues in qualifyings, where he could not even set a single lap. As a result, he was forced to start from last spot of the grid. Leimer moved up to 9th at the end of race 1, and took another position when Romain Grosjean was excluded after his car failed the post race scrutineering. His 8th place in race 1 meant that he could start from pole position for race 2.
Fabio Leimer was able to stay in front and pull away to take win at the end of the race. Dani Clos and Marcus Ericsson took 2nd and 3rd.
That was a though race for the title favorites, as Giedo Van der Garde, who took provisional championship lead after his podium in race 1, had a big crash with Jules Bianchi at the start : none of them was injured in the accident. Van der Garde still hold first place in championship (with Sam Bird), but Jules Bianchi is having a very difficult begining of season, and stands only in 7th position after four races.
