One week after Daniel Morad’s win at Silverstone, another canadian driver took a GP3 victory : Robert Wickens clinched his first success in the serie in race 1 at Hockenheim.

Robert Wickens set the second best performance in qualifying, but he was among the 22 drivers to be penalized after he improved his time in a yellow flagged sector : he was dropped down to 3rd.

Robert Wickens overtook James Jakes, then Josef Newgarden to take the lead in the opening lap, then pulled away in front. He finally took his first GP3 win with a 2.2 seconds margin. James Jakes and Renger Van der Zande took 2nd and 3rd.

Daniel Morad was not so lucky. The young driver from Toronto, winner at Silverstone, was forced to retire in lap 7 at Hockenheim after a contact with American driver Alexander Rossi.
