Scott Pruett does not count many miscue, which might explain his success in the Grand-Am Rolex series. He had one on Saturday however, in Laguna Seca, and it cost him a victory.

Alex Gurney, who shares his No. 99 GAINSCO Chevrolet/Riley with Jon Fogarty, managed to take advantage of this mistake in the pits to lead the last 28 laps and win by 0.431 seconds.

Polesitter Rick Taylor's codriver Max Angelelli stole third position from rival Ryan Dalziel - who ran almost all the event - in the closing laps. Taylor/Angelelli led a race-high 57 laps.

In GT, Leh Keen and Andrew Davis took a second victory in 2011 in their Porsche GT3 Cup. They now lead the class championship by 10 points ahead of Bill Lester and Jordan Taylor, who lost a lot of time in the pit on Saturday, when their team had to fix the brake lights.

Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato completed the Gt podium in their No. 69 Mazda RX-8. Wayne Nonnamaker and codriver John Edwards, second on the GT grid, were eyeing a podium finish until a cut oil line led to a spin and long repairs.

The next race will be in New Jersey on the weekend of July 22-24.
