It was announced that Eric Curran and Boris Said will be back with Marsh Racing, in the GT class, next year.

Canadian fans will remember Said as the driver who won Montréal's NAPA 200, in 2010. The same year Jacques Villeneuve finished third.

Team owner Ted Marsh also announced his drivers would be driving their new Corvette – custom built for Rolex competition.

The same car was actually scheduled to start racing last year, at Watkins Glen. Joey Logano however, drafted in to replace Boris Said that weekend, smashed it. The team therefore had to switch back to old car for the remainder of the season.

New record for Pruett

In 2011, Scott Pruett finished the Rolex 24 for on the lead lap for a record fifth time.

Which means the California-born driver smashed Peter Gregg's record. Gregg finished on the leader's lap four times from 1973 to 1976 (the 1974 edition was cancelled).

Shelby Blackstock, racer

Shelby Blackstock, son of actor and country star Reba McEntire, announced he will be racing full-time in the Grand-Am series in 2012.

The 20-year-old could only experience a limited schedule last year. He will be sharing a Roush Performance Mustang with Jade Buford.
